Is this an emergency?
If your pet is showing any of the signs below, please call us or Vets Now immediately. Do not wait to see if it improves.
- Difficulty breathing, rapid breathing, or choking
- Collapse, loss of consciousness, or sudden inability to stand
- Suspected poisoning or ingestion of a toxic substance
- Severe trauma — car accident, fall from height, animal attack
- Continuous seizures or multiple fits within a short period
- Suspected bloat / gastric dilatation (distended abdomen, retching, restlessness)
- Profuse or uncontrolled bleeding
- Suspected urinary blockage in a cat (straining without passing urine, vocalising)
- Birthing difficulties — straining for more than 30 minutes without producing a pup/kitten
- Penetrating eye injury or sudden complete loss of vision
- Suspected broken bones with open wound
- Your pet is in significant, visible distress or pain
